Red Alder End Grain tables and counters are made by fusing together the end pieces into an offset rectangular pattern exposing the wood rings and grain. End grain "butcher block" construction is the strongest and most durable and preferred by chefs as the tops resist cuts and marks, and cradle the knife’s edge between the end grain fibers, extending time between blade sharpening. Red alder is a common NW Pacific hardwood consistent in color from a pale pinkish-brown to almost white. The grain texture is fairly straight and uniform. We use FSC® certified Red alder. Tops are made to order with curving and shaping available.
