Beetle Kill Pine Plank

Beetle Kill Pine is caused by  the mountain pine beetle which is infecting the American West forests at epidemic rates.  The wood species are mostly Ponderosa and Lodgepole pine. The beetles lay their eggs under the bark which subsequently kills the tree, leaving a blue stain effect on the wood. This staining however does not affect the integrity of the log.  Beetle kill pine plank, or face grain style, tables and counter tops are built with parallel strips of wood varying in width (typically 4” to 6”).  The top surface  shows the natural grain patterns and may contain large knots 3” to 4” in diameter.  Spec sheet
