Beetle Kill Pine Live Edge

Beetle Kill Pine is a result of the mountain pine beetle that is infecting the American West forests at epidemic rates. The wood species are mostly Ponderosa and Lodgepole pine. The beetles lay their eggs under the bark which subsequently kills the tree, leaving a blue stain effect on the wood. This staining however does not affect the integrity of he log. Beetle kill pine live edge tops, bark removed, allow the natural edge of the log to dictate the piece.  Each piece has a unique character with surface checking and natural cracks and may contain large knots 3” to 4” in diameter. These tops are built with parallel planks varying in width, typically 4" to 6".  The live edge can be mounted up or down, (please specify when ordering, default is face up).  A waterborne varnish is applied providing a durable surface and enhancing the beauty of the wood.  Spec sheet
